ORMN is a chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists is a nonprofit of volunteer educators, citizen scientists, and stewards dedicated to caring for the natural world.

Old Rag Master Naturalists (ORMN) equip volunteers with strong foundational training so they can make a real impact across Culpeper, Fauquier, Greene, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock counties.

From trail maintenance and habitat restoration to public education, wildlife monitoring, and research, ORMN members help protect and enrich the natural resources of the Piedmont Region.

The Clifton Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Warrenton, VA. Our mission is to inspire a deeper understanding and appreciation of nature, to study the ecology of our region, to restore habitat, and to conserve native biodiversity. In short, we’re here to save Virginia’s native species. We do conservation biology research, we restore habitat for native plants and animals, and we teach children and adults about science, conservation, and nature.

The Rivanna Chapter serves the goals of the Virginia Master Naturalist Program as a statewide corps of trained volunteers dedicated to supporting our region’s natural resources and public nature preserves. It's members live near Charlottesville and Albemarle, Fluvanna, Louisa and Nelson counties

The Virginia Grassland Bird Initiative (VGBI) — a partnership between Smithsonian’s Virginia Working Landscapes,   The Piedmont Environmental Council, American Farmland Trust, Quail Forever, and the Shenandoah Valley Conservancy — is innovating new ways to reverse the declines of grassland birds on working lands in the Virginia Piedmont, Blue Ridge, and Shenandoah Valley. Together, VGBI partners work with landowners and producers  to restore grassland habitat for the benefit of birds and farms.

Virginia Working Landscapes (VWL), a program of the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute (NZCBI) in Front Royal, Virginia promotes the conservation of native biodiversity and sustainable land use through research, education, and community engagement.

Soldiers2Scientists is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding veteran participation in outdoor Citizen Science projects. We partner with park rangers, veteran organizations, conservation groups, universities, and a community of donors to organize activities where veterans take part in important research.
